Who I am
My interests in teaching movement and exercise have evolved over the years. My approach has been and will always be down to earth, evidence based and aimed at making yoga, strength and fitness as inclusive as possible. Exercise can be both vigorous and mellow, physical and subtle, serious and playful, complicated and simple (sometimes all at once!) My goal as a teacher is help you navigate these contradictions so that you find the practice that best suits and sustains your mind, body and spirit.
I dabbled in yoga for over a decade before settling into a steady practice in 2012. Throughout young adulthood, I loved fitness but I found myself craving more than just movement and sweat. My practice deepened even more after moving to New Mexico in 2014 where I connected with inspiring teachers.
Through the hundreds of hours of trainings and teaching that I have completed, I’ve learned that movement of all kinds (including-but not limited to-yoga) can be powerful and empowering. It can teach you about who you were and are and it can help you become more of who you want to be. Connecting the mind and body can happen through all forms of movement and I am here to help!
What I do
There are a variety of ways you can work with me. I teach group yoga classes online and in person.
I am also available to coach folks individually. We can work together to create a personal yoga or strength practice, learn the basics of yoga or strength or other types of movement/fitness coaching. Reach out if you have a movement problem and think I can help you to find solutions!
Some of the trainings in which I’ve participated include:
-200 hour certification with the Pranakriya School of Yoga
-300 hour study with Mindful Strength
-Teaching PreK-5th children’s yoga and Tweens/Teens yoga with YogaEd
-Hoop flow and dance coaching with Hoop Love Coaching
-In Progress: Women’s Strength/Health coaching with Girls Gone Strong
I love to teach all kinds of movers: young adults to seniors. I really enjoy working with beginners, everyday active folks, and people who enjoy realistic physical challenge. My teaching philosophy is simple: I show you how move your body in the way that your (individual) body moves while guiding you to be mindful and aware. My passion for teaching movement runs deep no matter the angle of class or the phase of the practitioner before me!
